Jorge Sá Couto attended the degree in Electrical and Computing Engineering, provided by the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto.
As Chairman of jp.ik, he co-founded the company with his brother, João Paulo Sá Couto, in 1989.
The Portuguese company started as a technical assistance provider and rapidly evolved as manufacturer, staking in its own brand entitled Tsunami.
In 2008, Jorge Sá Couto was a key driver of the “Magellan” (Magalhães) Educational Initiative, which was responsible for providing an integrated ICT solution for Portuguese students and teachers. This Initiative brought in the first computer for millions of Portuguese families.
Since then, Jorge Sá Couto has been working with several companies, governments, public and private institutions in the pursuit of developing Education worldwide through the meaningful implementation of innovative technologies designed especially for Education.
Respresenting jp.ik, he actively takes part in the global partnership for the establishment of Millennium@EDU Program.
