President of the SDG Alliance Portugal, a multistakeholder platform, coordinated by the Portuguese Network of UN Global Compact which gathers members from the Business Sector, Civil Society and Government for the accomplishment of the SDGs in Portugal.

Founder and President of Portuguese Association for Business Ethics (2002 – 2016) and a recognized expert in Portugal in the fields of Sustainability, Ethics and Social Responsibility, Mário Parra da Silva participates as a speaker and lecturer at several seminars and conferences. Main creator and principal architect of the annual event Social Responsibility Week, existing since 2006, which brings together representatives of the Government, public bodies, companies, universities, social partners, NGOs, Social Economy and Cultural Agents, demonstrating how the sustainable and responsible management as well as the implementation of good practices within organizations lead to greater profitability, competitiveness and reputation.

Mário Parra da Silva led the Portuguese delegation that participated in the working group that produced the international standard “ISO 26000: Guidance on Social Responsibility” for 5 years. Portugal is in the PPO NIN – Post Publication Organization, National Standards Body Information Network which aims to monitor the implementation of this standard of social responsibility. Scientific Coordinator of several post-graduate courses in the areas of Ethics, Social Responsibility and Sustainability in the Autonomous University of Lisbon and IPAM – Portuguese Institute of Marketing Management.

Founder and President of the Corporate Wellness International Institute, responsible for bringing the concept to Portuguese companies, has held several seminars as key note speaker.

Holder of a solid experience in management and business administration and responsible for boosting several Consulting and Training companies on the market and a recognized expert in ethics, social responsibility and sustainability, as well as in strategic management, commercial and sales. Administrator of Pedra Base and other companies in the field of training, consulting and web solutions.

His professional career includes the distinction as Commercial Director and General CES ALCATEL, office equipment. He was a consultant for renowned organizations such as Xerox, Ricoh and Frost & Sullivan, acting in several countries such as Spain and Brazil. Mário Parra da Silva has also knowledge of the Health sector, as partner and manager of a large imagiology clinic, since 2001.

His high expertise and experience in different organizational environments, supports the distinction of his contribution in the management and development of specifically targeted projects to promote organizational competitiveness and executive education. Mário Parra da Silva participates in the Managing Bodies of the Confederation of Trade and Services of Portugal.

Author and co-author of several technical and didactic works to support training and of several articles published on Sustainability, Ethics and Social Responsibility.

Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, certified by IEFP as a trainer.
