Gavin Dykes

Gavin is a trustee and chair of the charity Education Fast Forward, which conducts global debates on education issues and that encourages through technology engagement by students, teachers and policy makers. He is Programme Director for the Asian Summit on Education and Skills and for the Education World Forum, an annual meeting of Ministers of Education in which they share policies and practice and learn from each other. Gavin also consults for global organizations that have included the World Bank, UNESCO and the OECD and for Ministries, as well as for a range of new and well-established edtech organizations.

Previously, Gavin was the International Strategy Consultant and Advisor for Becta, as well as Associate Director of the Innovation Unit and of Futurelab. His work worldwide has seen him in leadership roles for successful projects and events in countries from Azerbaijan to Qatar and from India to the United States. His focus remains on innovation in learning and technology’s support for education as well as on developing effective learners’ voice throughout education.

Gavin started his career as a civil engineer before moving into teaching and leading in Vocational Education and Training and in Higher Education. Following secondment to government and working with the ICT in Schools Division in England, Gavin moved to the independent advisory role in which he has been engaged since 2004.
