As Head of the Education for Sustainability Project at Quidgest, Maria’s mission is to enhance technology is the key answer to involve the new generations into a more sustainable planet. In this role, Maria has been working directly with UN’s Global Compact Network Portugal, managing a specialized team to enable the project’s main objective, promote the acquisition and development of essential skills for individuals to become sustainability change-makers.
As International Business Consultant at Quidgest, Maria is responsible for the management of opportunities and strategic partnerships in Western Europe and South America, focusing on projects with a strong component of sustainable development and the creation of added value to the communities. This approach has been a reference for the company’s positioning both in the national and international markets.
A strong advocate of the Sustainable Development Goals, Maria started her career focusing on better understanding the enterprise’s approach to the subject and, further on, helping them to embrace the SDGs as an overarching framework to capitalize business opportunities and enhancing shared value. By becoming the Head of the Sustainability Portfolio at Quidgest, she is fulfilling a dream: aligning her work with a meaningful purpose.
Maria has a Bachelor degree in International Relations and is currently finishing her Masters in Governance, Leadership and Democracy Studies. During her years as a student, she became a member of AIESEC, the world’s largest non-profit youth-run organization, where she found her passion and life-mission.
